Target Market: Finding your potential customers and market is imperative and this is the first stepping stone on the path. You must connect and interact with your customers via niche related discussions boards, forums, blogs or other similar typed websites offering information and discussion points regarding your niche or problem you are trying to solve. Get involved intently in the conversations, ask your own specific questions, from what you read in these places you will in future convert what people are saying into products or product ideas.

Passions and Interest: I stress this very highly do not start creating products which you have no interest in otherwise the job of product creation becomes a chore not a hobby or business idea. You must be able to have some expertise and former knowledge in the areas you are targeting so you can offer real value to your customers. If you are going to be creating such products based on demands of the target markets use outsourcing services or hire someone who has experience in that niche field to create the product. This way the final product will be better off than what you could have possibly created with your limited knowledge and skills in the target niche.

Eyes Open: Knowing what is in and out of fashion is vital. Keeping updated with the newest trends and top selling products around your niche will help you capitalize on the opportunities for big sales and to create products which are fulfilling the demand of the consumer. Browsing magazines, internet sites, blogs, discussion boards and forums will help you find new ideas for upcoming products that you can create. You may also do keyword search to easily figure out the kinds of products that are usually being looked for by the majority.

Step Outside The Square: If you are currently of the belief that just editing other peoples work and products is good enough well you are wrong, you have to stand out as an authority in your niche to continue generating high levels of sales. Be sure you can offer your target market something different than what others are already currently developing. This separates you from the majority giving you a lot more attention.
